Id rather Benitez but i think he wouldn't suffer the dwarves for long so we'll be sticking with Safety First David

Benitez who turned us down before?

or

Moyes who won't ask the BERKS for money for players as he's happy enough to be employed?

TOUGH CALL FOR THE BOARD THAT

Moyes is getting the gig long term as long as we avoid relegation. Cheap option and in the owner's minds a 'safe pair of hands.' That is the extent of their ambition.

Even if we go down I think they'll look to keep him.

In short the only way he's leaving is if he walks away himself or dies.

Benitez won't join us.

They'll never pay him enough money, and they'll never give him the funds and control he'd want for transfers. Why would he swap his situation at Newcastle for one that's probably worse at West Ham?

Only plus points are a) London and b) maybe a pay rise

Neither

Newcastle are on a good run of form. But they are not too far off where they should be. He is overated for me

Don't think we have a chance of Benitez, they love him up there, Newcastle are also a better proposition than us right now, with a potential takeover and more money to work with.

IF the board were prepared to be ambitious back the manager and spend big Benitez all day long, he has won many things and greatly experienced, well known and would attract top players. He could bring us success for the first time in nearly 40 years, but it won't happen because it will cost.

Moyes in comparison is unambitious just happy to stay in employment and not ruffle any feathers by asking for too much money to spend, the signing of Hugill says it all, like Bilic a cheap option yes man. More competent than Bilic but that isn't hard.

No chance Benitez would come too ambitious for our 2bob owners with all the negative press about fans demonstrating with the board because they've not spent any money.

We will be mid table at best until the 2bobs sell up.

Understood his wife and family were settled in the NW and stayed there even when he went around Europe
If he gets funding promises he will stay at Newcastle
If he doesn’t I could see him interesting Everton

We are in the wrong part of the country and the Daves won’t cough up in any ambitious way

Re: WHU manager 2018-19 Moyes or Rafael Benitez ?
Why would Benitez come? As pointed out he already turned us down once.

If, and I think we will, stay up this board will stick with Moyes. Has history taught you lot nothing?

They wouldn't pay him enough but he would get a pay rise if he came?

Anyway. I thought he was just about to sign a new contract?

Re: WHU manager 2018-19 Moyes or Rafael Benitez ?
Can we have neither and maybe go for someone who can take us to the next level, as neither of these could.

Will be laughable when Moyes is offered a contract considering his record has been pretty fucking atrocious.

Re: WHU manager 2018-19 Moyes or Rafael Benitez ?
"the next level" lol. You think this board will invest even 200m min to even attempt to take us into the top 6 then you are smoking crack.

Re: WHU manager 2018-19 Moyes or Rafael Benitez ?
As said if we stay up it would seem an absolute certainty that Moyes will be appointed
And things will continue as they are.
I imagine if we win tonight the Daves will feel everything is ok and Burnley was just a few BAD APPLES spoiling things when everyone knows how great they have done.

can i say 'no' to both??

Jokanovic for me out of all the names mentioned - said this back when Bilic got sacked.

Not convinced by either to be honest.

Not sure anyone with any real credentials would want the job either.

Would you want to work for those three?

I predict another season flirting with relegation, following another disappointing summer transfer window.

Raffa all day!

Re: WHU manager 2018-19 Moyes or Rafael Benitez ?
Not even a debate for me, you just have to have a glance at Rafa's achievements and what he has done with that Newcastle side this season to realise he would be the better choice.

Whilst Moyes will hopefully achieve what he was brought in for, which was to sort out the complete shitshow that was left behind and keep us up, if he achieves that we should say thank you very much, you have done what was asked (he would of restored some of his reputation and no doubt get another job in England) and then we need to look for the next level appointment.

Whilst Rafa isn't in that top tier he is better than what we have and improvements whilst small is what we as a club our size should be aiming for, small improvements that are realistic instead of all these false promises that even the most optimistic fan knows won't happen over night.
